Library & Technology Services is composed of approximately 100 librarians and technology specialists. The complex and varied services provided by LTS take place within the context of these broad areas:
All areas have been profoundly changed by the quickly evolving digital information landscape, and LTS strives to maximize the potential of the online environment while ensuring that personal assistance and physical learning spaces are available when needed. Changes in teaching, learning, and scholarship bring with them new concerns about information literacy, computer literacy, and media literacy. The decision-making capabilities of Brandeis University's administrative units are dependent on effective and efficient use of technology to capture and analyze data and information critical to the operations of the University. Information and data security has moved to the fore as the University must take responsibility for the protection of confidential information and data. Communication has been revolutionized by digital services, leading to support needs for email and wireless communication, as well as for web-based communication platforms such as blogs and wikis. Underlying all services today is a technology infrastructure which must be fast, efficient, resilient, redundant, and secure.
Our vision is a rich environment of people, technology, information, and facilities that serves learning, teaching, and scholarship and that provides high quality, accessible, and reliable systems to support operational decision-making, planning, and analysis.
Our mission is to provide seamless service to enhance learning, teaching, and research activities and to provide high quality, accessible, and reliable systems.
