Web of Science

The Web of Science (http://isi01.isiknowledge.com/portal.cgi/wos) is not new to the Brandeis University Libraries, but as a database, it ranks among the most notable. In 1999, indexing went back only 10 years to 1989, and at the time that seemed like a lot. In the 2001-2002 fiscal year the Brandeis Libraries purchased the back files to 1965, and in the following fiscal year, back files to 1945. The parent company, Thompson ISI, has added many new site features. It is now possible to search "pre-published" journal articles. Check out the "Analyze Results" feature to view rankings and histograms of the authors, journals, etc. of your search results. The company supports Open Access publishing by indexing journals such as the Public Library of Science Biology and BioMed Central titles. Take a look at "Hot Research", SCI-BYTES, or ISIHighlyCited. The Institute of Scientific Information has certainly come a long way since the colorful and legendary Dr. Eugene Garfield started the company in Philadelphia in 1958.

Nature Review journals

The Brandeis University Libraries added seven new titles to its repertoire of online journals: the entire suite of Nature Reviews for Cancer, Drug Discovery, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology , Molecular Cell Biology and Neuroscience. These highly cited, high-impact journals are all indexed in PubMed and Web of Science with links to the full text articles online.

Grove Art Online - Far More Than Just Art!

Grove Art Online has added some exciting new options that underscore the broad range of subjects and disciplines covered by this resource.
