There were 244 respondents to the Fall 2007 BigPulse IPTV channel poll in October.
The poll asked respondents to indicate their first through seventh choices of all the cable TV channels at Brandeis. First choice was awarded seven points, second choice was awarded six points, and so forth. Points were totalled to arrive at a weighted score for each channel.
When representatives from the Student Union and LTS met to establish the Fall 2007 IPTV channel lineup, the weighted score was considered first, followed by a concern to provide a variety of channels (news, network, entertainment, etc.). The unweighted score (the actual number of votes a particular channel received) was also considered.
This IPTV channel selection process was the same as the process used in Fall 2006 and Spring 2007.
The next opportunity to vote on the IPTV channel lineup will be beginning December 1, 2007, and ending in early Spring 2008.
