Everyone gets a lot of email, but not everyone deletes it. While your storage capacity for your email account is unlimited (for all intents and purposes), we strongly suggest that you keep your mailbox under 50MB. It's not the end of the world to run over 50MB, but it's considerate to your peers to trim down the number of emails you have; there's only so much space to store everyone's email. LTS sends a weekly email to each user with a detailed report of how big the account is; if you exceed a certain size, you will be notified by LTS via email.
The best way to avoid getting repeated warnings is to delete old messages that you'll never need. Another way to avoid the notifications is to split up the emails into smaller folders. By doing either one of the suggested procedures, you should see better performance with your email client.
