The fall term will be starting soon, and as we enter the academic year, I would like to remind you about the importance of security, spyware and virus protection and about your responsibilities as a member of our community who uses technology. Whether we like it or not, security issues are now part of our daily lives; worms and viruses have become part of our daily vocabulary. The attacks are unrelenting, and we each have to do our part to stay healthy, individually and collectively.
You play a vital role by staying informed about using technology on a shared network that is attacked incessantly by dastardly and criminal individuals. Your responsible behavior in managing your computer ensures your protection and protects others in our community.
To provide you with directions on how to stay current and be safe, I am introducing the Be WISE Initiative on the LTS Web Site: www.brandeis.edu/go/BeWISE.
In short, I ask that you:
Work with LTS & Brandeis Community
Install Updates & Protective Software
Stay Alert
Expect Further Change
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone in the Brandeis Community for supporting our efforts to provide reliable, safe service. Your cooperation makes all the difference.
