Adobe GoLive Saved Passwords

Overview

LTS strongly recommends that you do not save your password within the Adobe GoLive program to connect to your Brandeis website because of security concerns. It is also beneficial to type your password whenever you use GoLive, because it decreases the chances of forgetting it. In addition, when you change your password, you will need to update it within the GoLive program. This page explains how to set Adobe GoLive so that it does not save your password.

Adobe GoLive CS2 (8.x)

Step 1:

  • Open Adobe GoLive

Step 2:

Connect to WebDAV
  • Click on "File" and select "Connect to WebDAV..."

Step 3:

  • Click on "Edit Servers..."

Step 4:

Edit Servers
  • Select the Brandeis server.
  • Clear the field with your old password.
  • Uncheck the box that says "Save" next to the password.

Step 5:

  • Select OK and move on to work.


Adobe GoLive CS (7.x)

Step 1:

  • Open Adobe GoLive

  • Click on "File" and select "Connect to FTP/WebDAV..."

Step 3:

  • Click on "Edit Servers..."

Step 4:

  • Select the Brandeis server.
  • Clear the field with your old password.
  • Uncheck the box that says "Save" next to the password.

Step 5:

  • Select OK and move on to work.


Adobe GoLive 6.x

Step 1:

  • Open your site file.

Step 2:

  • In your menu bar, select "Site" and pull down to the bottom item "Settings"

Step 3:

  • In the Settings window that pops up,. you will be in the "General" settings. Select the third option down, FTP & WebDAV Server (A).
  • Then select the FTP Server in the main part of the window (B) and a menu will pop up.

Step 4:

  • Select "Edit Server" at the bottom of the pull down menu.

Step 5:

  • At the bottom of this pop-up window will be the server settings you have saved.
  • Uncheck the save box next to the password.
  • Delete the password in the field (hidden from view).

Step 6:

  • Select OK and move on to work.
