About Your UNet Home Directory

Overview

One of the features of your Brandeis UNet account is your Home Directory, which is your personal network-based file storage. You can use this network storage to backup files, share files with others, or move files from one computer to another.

Think of your UNet Home Directory as a central repository to which you can store and retrieve files from any Internet-connected computer. This is handy when working on files on different computers, and is much more secure and reliable than carrying files around on diskettes, which are susceptible to the environment. The contents of your Home Directory are backed up nightly.

Access to your UNet Home Directory

On campus, you can connect directly from a Mac or PC operating system:

  • From a PC enter \\unethome\<username>
