Step 1
Click on Tools and select Message Filters from the menu.

On the Message Filters screen, select the account you want to create a filter for from the drop down menu. Then click New...

A blank filter is created which you can edit. Fill in a name. You can add and edit filter criteria from this screen. Click the top plus to add filter criteria or the minus to remove them. Click the bottom plus and minus to add or remove actions to perform on messages that meet the criteria you set.

Step 4
The filter's ability to identify incoming email as spam depends a lot upon the information you provide. Some simple and effective methods are to have the filter check the sender's address and the subject line for keywords. The first criteria tells our filter to look for messages with "scuba" in the subject line. The second tells it to look for messages from a specific email address. One of the easy and simple choices for action is to simply delete the message. You can also instruct it to move the message to a particular folder or to mark it as junk. Click OK when finished.

Step 5
Now that your filter has been created, you can enable it by clicking the Enabled check box. From here you can edit or delete existing filters. If you'd like to have this filter look through previous messages and perform the action you've specified, select a folder from the drop down menu at the bottom and click on Run Now

Click on Mail in the upper-left program menu and select Preferences

Click on Rules. Then click Add Rule

Name your rule. Click on the plusses to add criteria and minuses to delete them. The drop down box determines whether the messages being filtered by the rule must meet all or any of the criteria you list. Actions are added and deleted in the same way. The rules created below will search for messages with "Scuba" or "Diving" in the subject, for messages from certain email addresses, and for any message containing the words "scuba-diving."It will then delete these messages immediately. Click OK when done.

You can duplicate existing rules (to create several similar but slightly different rules) or edit or remove your rules from this menu.

Step 1
Log into webmail and click the Filters button at the top toolbar.

Step 2
There are two pre-prepared spam filters in webmail. One is a standard spam filter and the other is a stricter filter. Click the red text or the red X to enable them.

Step 3
If you find that these spam filters do not meet your needs or you want to filter certain messages which are not being picked up as spam, you will want to create a new filter. Click New Rule to begin.

Step 4
Fill in Rule Name with a descriptive name for your new filter. Click the radio button indicating if you want this rule to be applied if the message meets just some of the criteria you lisr or if you want the message to meet all criteria. Drop down the Select a field box to select which criteria to search by. Drop down the box for Do this: to select an action to take when a message meets the criteria you specify. Click Save when finished.

Step 5
Your new filter rule is enabled by default. The yellow text above the rules will display confirmation that your rule was saved and activated successfully.

Step 6
You can disable a rule by clicking on the green check mark. The rule will then display red text saying disabled - click to enable. You can delete a rule by clicking on the trash can icon to the left.
