Microsoft Campus Agreement
Brandeis participates in the Microsoft Campus Agreement, which allows all faculty and staff to use the most current versions of the following products:
- Microsoft Windows
- Microsoft Office Standard and Professional Editions
- Microsoft Office Macintosh Edition
- Microsoft FrontPage
- Microsoft Visual Studio Professional Edition
- Microsoft Office Starts Here/Step by Step Interactive by Microsoft Press
- Microsoft BackOffice Server Client Access License (CAL)
This agreement provides the user with a license to use the software, but does not include the actual media. The campus agreement also allows for home use of Microsoft Office by faculty and staff, for business use only.
Support for Microsoft Campus Agreement products
Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are supported by the Help Desk. All of the other software available through the Microsoft Campus Agreement is not supported. For questions with unsupported Microsoft products, consult the individual product pages on this website for lists of suggested online resources.
On campus installation of Microsoft Campus Agreement products
While on campus, faculty and staff can install MS Office software on authorized machines.
Windows Users:
- Click on start
- Click on run
- Type in \\omega\Office-Installer
Mac Users:
- Click on Go
- Click on Connect To Server
- Type in smb://omega.unet.brandeis.edu/Office-Installer/mac
- In the login window, set the Workgroup/Domain as USERS and the username and password as your UNet (email) username and password
- And install from the file office2004.dmg
Off campus installation of Microsoft Campus Agreement products
A special home-use media kit containing a maximum of two installs for one machine can be purchased from the
Repair Shop, for a fee of $5 for MAC OS and $10 for Windows (faculty/staff ID required). Alternatively, you can arrange to bring your home computer in to have the software installed by the Help Desk or one of our technology coordinators at no charge.
The agreement does not allow for the loaning and distribution of media and install codes.
