In this example attackers were very clever. Particularly the cloning of our legitimate login page used at Brandeis gives this scam some teeth. Nonetheless we still have some red flags along the way that are indicators.
- The email suggests a restriction is on your account but your account is working just fine.
- The message is from kateb@optonline.net rather than an @brandeis.edu account.
- The word primary is capitalized in the middle of a sentence.
- The link leads to a webpage hosted at yourkirana.com rather than brandeis.edu.
