Hardware Standards

Overview

LTS has developed this standards guide to assist campus departments in selecting computer hardware and to help departments choose hardware supported by LTS. Those departments participating in the Desktop Refresh Program always meet or exceed these standards.

These standards are intended to ensure that:

  • Desktop computers have sufficient resources to run current software products at adequate performance levels.
  • Users have full Internet and campus network access.
  • Resources are not wasted on inadequate or outdated equipment.
  • LTS is able to offer superior service to users.

This document will be updated periodically to reflect changes in available computer hardware and software and related issues. LTS supports both PC and Macintosh platforms.
