First Time Set-up Instructions

  1. Request phone and voicemail access here: New Employee Phone / Voicemail Setup
  2. After you have access to voicemail, follow the prompts to record your name and greeting.
  3. Follow the prompts to change your PIN.  Your new PIN must be 5-10 digits long.

Changing Your Greeting

  1. Log into your voicemail
  2. Press 4-1-1
  3. Follow the prompts to record your greeting
  4. Press the # key
For alternative greetings
  1. Log into your voicemail
  2. Press 4-1-2
  3. You will be prompted to set an expiration date

Retrieving Messages

  1. Log into your voicemail
  2. Press 1 to listen to new messages
  3. Press 3 to listen to old and saved messages
  4. Press 3-2-1 to review deleted messages (these messages are stored for only 7 days)

Listening to a Message

  1. Press 1 to restart message
  2. Press 2 to save the message
  3. Press 3 to delete the message
  4. Press 4 to slow playback
  5. Press #4 to skip and reply to subscriber
  6. Press #42 to skip and reply to all subscribers
  7. Press #44 to skip and call subscriber
  8. Press #5 to skip and forward message
  9. Press 6 for fast playback
  10. Press #6 to skip and save as new
  11. Press 7 to rewind the message (5 seconds)
  12. Press 8 to pause/resume
  13. Press 9 to fast-forward the message (5 seconds)
  14. Press #9 to skip and play message properties
  15. Press # to fast-forward to the end
  16. Press ## to save as is

After Listening to a Message

  1. Press 1 to replay message
  2. Press 2 to save
  3. Press 3 to delete
  4. Press 4 to reply
  5. Press 42 to reply to all
  6. Press 5 to forward to the message
  7. Press 6 to save message as new
  8. Press 7 to rewind the message (5 seconds)
  9. Press 9 to play the message properties
  10. Press # to save as is

Logging In/Accessing Your VoiceMail Box

If you are on on-campus on and your campus phone:

  1. Press message or dial x62222
  2. Enter your password, followed by #

If you're on campus and at another campus phone:

  1. Press message or dial x62222
  2. Press *
  3. Enter your 5-digit extension number when prompted for "your ID"
  4. Press #
  5. Enter your password, followed by #, when prompted for "password"
If you're off-campus:
  1. Dial (781)736-2222
  2. Press *
  3. Enter your 5-digit extension number when prompted for "your ID"
  4. Press #
  5. Enter your password, followed by #, when prompted for "password"

Sending Messages

  1. Log into your voicemail
  2. Press 2 to prompt to enter either an extension number or spelling of a last name
  3. Press ## to switch between spelling mode and number mode or enter the number of a private list and press #
  4. Press #1 to add other names or private lists
  5. Press # after the last entry
  6. Press 3 for message options
  7. Record your message
  8. Press # to end recording

Express Messaging

  1. Dial * + 7 + 5-digit number (dial 781-736-2222 if your are off campus)
  2. Wait for greeting and leave the message

Create Private Distribution Lists

  1. Log into your voicemail
  2. Press 4-2-4
  3. Press 0 for help in creating a list(s)
  4. Press 1 to hear your private list
  5. Press 2 to change the names on a private list
  6. You will hear a prompt to enter the extension you want to add your list
    1. Press 1 to add a name
    2. Press 2 to hear current names
    3. Press 3 to remove a name
    4. Press ## to switch between spelling mode and number mode

Limits

  1. Maximum voicemail storage limit: 25 minutes
  2. Number of days new messages are retained: 30 days
  3. Number of days saved message are retained: 15 days
  4. Maximum personal greeting length: 2 minutes
  5. Maximum message length: 1 minute and 30 seconds

Voicemail plays too fast or slow

  1. During voicemail playback press 4 to slow down voice playback and 6 to speed it up. 
  2. Using "4" and "6," adjust the speed until your voicemail playback is normal.
