In these LATTE training sessions, class sizes are limited, and registrants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. LTS reserves the right to cancel a class with less than five participants. In some cases we have wait lists for workshops, so please register only if you are committed to attending. If you find that you cannot attend, please give at least 24 hours' notice by emailing ltsworkshops@lists.brandeis.edu.
Thursdays @ 3:00 p.m. is a weekly LTS learning series that highlights the many information resources and services offered by LTS. These demonstrations take place, unless otherwise noted, in the Main Library Information Commons each Thursday @ 3:00 p.m. No pre-registration is required and anyone can attend. For community members interested in additional training, LTS recommends New Horizons, Incorporated. New Horizons offers classes in all the primary office productivity software that we support. You may wish to look at the complete list on the New Horizons website. Their site also provides course outlines so that you can see what content each course covers.
New Horizons has convenient locations in Boston, Westborough, Quincy, and Waltham. Most classes are one or two days. As Brandeis is a member of the Boston Consortium, per-day cost of the classes in office productivity software is $95. Graphics and web design courses are also offered by New Horizons, at a Consortium charge of $150 per day. Contact New Horizons to enroll.
Also, LTS has a partnership with CompuWorks through the Boston Consortium. They have offices in Boston and Wakefield. They offer a comprehensive list of courses covering technical and business subject matter. The course schedule is available on their web site http://www.compuworks.com/education/class_schedule_tech.php. Contact them directly to enroll and identify yourself as being from Brandeis which is a Boston Consortium member institution.
