First Year Library Instruction Program

All first year students participate in the First Year Library Instruction Program. The program includes a tour of the library and a hands-on library research session taught by a librarian in a computer lab. In addition, students complete an online tutorial prior to their in-class library session. The First Year Library Instruction Program takes place in conjunction with all University Writing Seminars and the writing seminar component of the USEM+W courses. Approximately 26 First Year Library Instruction classes are taught each semester.
