Shiffman 219 contains an excellent display and a surround sound audio system!
The room may be reserved for any academic department in need of screening time and space.
The room is usually reserved for extended class sessions, with groups of fewer than eighty (80) attendees. These sessions are often held for screening longer running, class-related videos and movies. Though many rooms on campus have TEC (tech enriched classroom) status, 219 is handy for these extended screenings, allowing standard class scheduling in most other classrooms.
If not booked for a screening, the room is available for other functions.
Preference will be given to instructors in need of its specific features and time blocks.
Detailed user instructions for the installed system are found here.
The room is equipped with:
(1) 3500 lumen DLP data projector
(1) Multi-standard VHS player
(1) Region-free DVD player
(1) Windows-based, Instructor PC
(1) Auto-sensing laptop connection point (MAC users should provide their own MAC ADAPTER)
(1) 5.1 surround sound audio system, which allows you to truly enjoy a movie's soundtrack
(1) Instructor Station, housing playback equipment and a Crestron control system
Please keep in mind:
You should reserve at least two weeks before you need the room.
