Shiffman 202: Instructions For AV Equipment
Playing Videotapes
You need the projector remote control and the VCR in the cabinet.
To open the cabinet, use the key you checked out.

PROJECTOR REMOTE on front of cabinet:

press the "ON" button on the projector remote to turn on the projector. Wait 30 seconds to warm up.

Press "VIDEO" button on projector remote.

CABINET:
-
Insert the videotape gently and evenly into the multi-standard VCR.

Press PLAY on VCR.

Turn on the audio receiver, press VIDEO to select the input. Adjust the volume as needed.

When finished:
-
STOP then EJECT the videotape

turn off the audio receiver and VCR
-
press the "OFF" button on the projector remote control
-
Lock up the rack.
-
Rotate combination lock to display random numbers.
Displaying Computer Data
You need the projector remote control and a computer.
To open the cabinet, use the key that you checked out.

PROJECTOR REMOTE on front of cabinet:

press the "ON" button on the projector remote to turn on the projector. Wait 30 seconds to warm up.

Press "RGB2" button on projector remote.

CABINET:
-
Use the computer cable located in the cabinet to connect your computer to the input on the front of the cabinet. You can connect both picture and sound with this cable.

For sound from the computer, turn on the audio receiver, press COMPUTER to select the input. Adjust the volume as needed.

When finished:
-
Disconnect your computer and return the cable to the cabinet

turn off the audio receiver

press the "OFF" button on the projector remote control

Lock up the rack.

Rotate combination lock to display random numbers.
Playing Audiotapes Or CDs
You need the tape/CD player in the cabinet. To open the cabinet, use the key you checked out.

CABINET:

Turn on the CD/Tape player and insert your CD or tape. Press play.

Turn on the audio receiver, press CD/TAPE to select the input. Adjust the volume as needed.

When finished:
-
STOP then EJECT the CD or tape

turn off the audio receiver and CD/Tape player
-
Lock up the rack.

Rotate combination lock to display random numbers.
Using Closed-Caption Decoding
To open the cabinet, use the key checked out from the Language Media Center. Recently made commercial videotapes or TV programming come with closed-caption encoding. The Closed-Caption decoder lets you display text word-for-word. To activate the Closed-Caption Decoder, open the cabinet door.
Look for a small white and blue box . Flip the left-hand switch to "1".
Follow all other instructions above for playing videotapes.
