Subscribing to podcasts using iTunes

Open iTunes and select:
Advanced -> Subscribe to podcast

Enter the podcast URL of the broadcast you wish to subscribe to and click OK. If you are unsure of the URL, it is usually the URL of the Blog associated with the podcast.

Setting your download preferences:

Select:
Edit -> Preferences (PC)
iTunes -> Preferences (Mac)

Select "Podcasts"

Set how often you would like iTunes to automatically check your podcasts for new broadcasts (episodes). You may also set whether or not you would like to automatically download new episodes. In addition, you may specify how long you would like to keep episodes after they have been downloaded.

Podcasts and your iPod

Click on "iPod" in your iTunes preferences window
Select whether or not you would like to automatically update podcasts (automatically transfer them to your iPod when plugged in), and if so, which podcasts and episodes.
