Getting Started with Your iPod on a Mac

I. Downloading and Installing iTunes

If you know that you already have the most recent version of iTunes on your computer, you can skip to section III.

1. Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and download the iTunes installer.
2. Run the installer and follow the onscreen instructions.
3. You do not need to change any of the settings.

II. Opening iTunes for the First Time

1. When opening iTunes for the first time, you will taken through several setup screens.
2. Accept the License Agreement.
3. Leave everything alone on the internet audio and click next.
4. Click next on the Find Music Files without changing anything.
5. On the iTunes Music Store, click on NO, take me to my iTunes Library and then press Done.
6. Your iTunes will pop up and the iPod and iTunes is in sync.
7. If a prompt for moving your library and playlists pops up, press yes and your iTunes willstart.

III. Syncing Your iPod with Your Music Library

1. Connect the iPod to your computer.
2. The iPod Setup Assistant will pop up and your iTunes will also automatically start.
3. Leave everything alone and, click next.
4. You do not have to register the iPod. Click on done.
