What is JADS? JADS is a service for faculty that provides for self-service acquisition of journal articles. JADS is entirely funded by Library & Technology Services.
How does it work? A JADS account gives you access to Ingenta, a leading document supply company. Using Ingenta, you can search for an article you need, and if it is available you can purchase it through a pre-paid, LTS-funded account, and download a copy.
JADS is a self-service alternative to Interlibrary Loan services. Interlibrary Loan delivers requested articles usually in under 24 hours, and almost always within 48 hours of requesting. But when you need an article immediately, JADS is a good alternative.
About Ingenta: Ingenta covers journal literature in the social sciences and humanities in addition to science and technology. Many articles are available in electronic format for immediate download; others are delivered by fax in about 48 hours.
