The table below will help you understand what is meant by the many different statuses that the Interlibrary Loan system may display. If you have any questions, email the Interlibrary Loan department at illbrandeis@brandeis.edu.

Explanation |

Awaiting Conditional Processing |
The lending institution has sent the ILL Department a message requesting clarification on some aspect of a request. ? The ILL staff will determine the next step. |
|
Awaiting Copyright Clearance |
The request has been received in ILLiad and is awaiting copyright processing to determine if any copyright fees need to be paid. ? The library covers these costs. |
|
Awaiting Customer Contact |
The requested item has arrived and has been processed by the ILL department, but we have not yet contacted you to let you know that it is ready to be picked up. |
|
Awaiting Post Receipt Processing |
The requested item has arrived, but has not yet been processed by the ILL department. |
|
Awaiting Request Processing |
Your request has been received and has yet to be processed by ILL staff. |
|
Awaiting Other Request Processing |
Your request has been received and is awaiting careful processing by ILL staff due to the nature of the request. |
|
Awaiting Unfilled Request Processing |
Your request was received and sent to potential lenders, but was declined by each. ? ILL staff will determine whether it is appropriate to resubmit the request to a new batch of potential lenders. |
|
Cancelled by Customer |
This means you have cancelled a request/no longer need the requested item. ? You should periodically delete cancelled transactions in your Interlibrary Loan account. |
|
Cancelled by ILL Staff |
The request has been cancelled by the ILL department. ? The reason for cancellation may be found in your ILLiad account using the View/Resubmit Cancelled Requests button and looking at the details of each request. |
|
Checked Out to Customer |
The requested item arrived, was processed by the ILL department, and you have now checked the item out for use. ? Until the item’s status is changed to “Item Checked Inâ€�, you are responsible for it. |

Customer Notified via Email |
The requested item has arrived, has been processed, and you have been sent an email notifying you of its availability either at the Circulation Desk in Goldfarb (books and microforms) or on the web (articles). |
|
Delivered to Web |
The requested article has arrived and has been posted electronically to your Interlibrary Loan account, where you can view and/or download it using Adobe Acrobat. ? Articles will remain for 30 days from posting and will then be automatically deleted. |
|
Item Checked In |
You have returned an item borrowed through ILL, and it has been checked into the Interlibrary Loan system in preparation for sending it back to the lender. |
|
Item Returned |
The item has been returned to the lender. |
|
Request Sent |
The request has been submitted to a list of potential lending libraries and we are waiting for the item to be shipped. |
|
Request In Processing |
The request has been received and is being processed by ILL staff. |
|
Submitted by Customer |
The request has been submitted and received by the Interlibrary Loan system. ? It is awaiting processing. |
|
Request Finished |
The entire request process has been completed. ? Requests with this status are archived under the View Request History button in your Interlibrary Loan account. |
|
Received Incorrect/Partial Item |
An item was received that either does not match the item that you requested or is incomplete. ? The ILL staff will determine the quickest means to correct this. |
