Main Library Hours
Brandeis Scholar is an electronic research portal offered to the Brandeis community by Library and Technology Services. Our goal is to make it easier for you to find good information resources on a topic; these resources may include articles, books, images, databases and more.
Features of Brandeis Scholar
Brandeis Scholar is powered by a third-party federated search system called MetaLib that is used by several major research libraries across the world. Federated searching allows you to search several research databases, including the library catalog, at one time and get back a combined list of results.
Brandeis Users-Please Log In
To achieve the full benefit of Brandeis Scholar, please log in with your UNet username and password to access and search licensed resources and to save citations, database sets, and searches in My Research.
Things to Remember
Brandeis Scholar lets you use simple keyword searching to find some good information on a topic and shows you what databases have good coverage of your subject area. To do a thorough search on your topic, follow the link to the actual databases (such as Academic Search Premier) and continue your search for information. Remember that Brandeis Scholar only returns the first 30 citations from each database, unless you request more.
Not all databases can be searched via federated searching. This is controlled by the database vendor and not by LTS. Use Find Database by Subject to make sure you don't miss major databases on your topic.
