Biography

Gordon Hall, a young veteran of the Pacific Theatre during World War II, first encountered the printed propaganda issued by organized hate groups in the United States in the late 1940s. He supported his investigations and research by publicly lecturing about organized bigotry, gathering primary source materials from all parts of the country to document both his public statements and growing numbers of newspapers and magazine articles.

Scope and Content

The approximately 5,000 publications represent an effort to document the wide spectrum of political and religious dissent from the post-World War II period through the Reagan Era.

The collection is organized into 26 series, primarily alphabetical, containing pamphlets, political tracts, etc. on topics including the Vietnam War, the spread of communism, the nuclear arms race, and race relations.
