Scope and Content
The bulk of these files were created from 1965 to 1969. Research
material for the Louis Brandeis Papers date from 1899 to 1969. The
collection contains biographical data, correspondence, reports,
manuscripts, coursework material, research materials, drafts,
publication materials, and general files.
A large portion of this collection is related to Goldsmith's work at
Brandeis and the programs he initiated. Many of these programs,
such as Upward Bound and TYP, were focused on the issues of
educating the disadvantaged. The collection also contains the
research materials he used to produce three of his publications - a
guide to the microfilm edition of the Louis Brandeis Papers, his
book, "The Growth of Presidential Power," and an article, "The
President and Congress at Mid-Century."
