History--Biography
The Women's and Gender Studies Program at Brandeis University (originally
Women's Studies Program) was founded in 1976 as a concentration. Concentrators are required to complete a final senior essay or project in order to receive
a program certificate. In the 2004-2005 academic year, the University instituted a Women's and Gender Studies major, in addition
to the traditional concentration.
