History--Biography
The Center for Public Service was founded in June 1978 for the purpose of reaching out to the metropolitan Boston and New England community. The Center sought to educate public professionals on how to bridge the gap between academic theory and actual practice, conducted forums on public policy issues, and directed research projects to evaluate the effectiveness of social service and economic development programs. The Center focused on youth employment in particular.

Scope and Contents
The materials in this collection were created from 1979 to 1981 and contain brochures, newsletters, bulletins, and the Vice President's Task Force on Youth Employment reports.
