How do I renew a book?
You can renew by emailing circulation or you can renew online by logging into the My Account section of LOUIS the library catalog.
How do I find out my Library PIN?
If you present your ID to the staff at our circulation service desk they can issue you a Personal Identification Number (PIN).
How do I get a book that I can't find on the shelf?
Ask at our circulation service desk. Our staff will have you fill out a "search request" form and will look for the item. Our information desk staff can also assist you with locating the item at another institution if you need the item urgently.
I've moved. How do I change my address in your system?
If you are a student you should notify the registrar's office of your address change. We download your information from their system. If you are alumni you should contact the alumni office. If you are faculty or staff you should notify circulation of any changes to your information.
I've been billed for the replacement of a book. What should I do?
If you have been billed for replacement, you can either return the item, pay the invoiced amount or purchase a replacement copy. Please contact circulation before buying replacement copies.
I left my sunglasses (or car keys, jacket, computer disk, wallet, etc.) in the Library yesterday. Did anyone find them?
The circulation desk has a designated space for holding lost and found items for a limited time. Circulation staff will be happy to check these areas for you. Valuables such as wallets or credit cards are turned in to University police.
I need to reserve a group study room in the Library. How do I do this?
The majority of group study rooms in the Libraries are first come, first serve. However, the group study room in the Main Library on the Mezzanine level of Farber has a self-service sign up sheet on the bulletin board inside the room.
Do Alumni have borrowing privileges at the Libraries?
Dues paid members of the Brandeis University Alumni Association have limited borrowing privileges at the Libraries. You must bring your Alumni membership card with you in order to check out library materials.
