LTS Fall 2008 Update

Learning and Teaching

LTS Subject Liaisons

You don't need to memorize multiple email addresses or phone numbers to get help from LTS.   Find the LTS subject liaison for your area and give him or her a call!

Introducing Farber Commons

LTS has renovated Farber library Floors 2 and 3 to serve as a collaborative support center for faculty interested in exploring LTS resources in their teaching and learning.

Improved LATTE online learning environment

LATTE enhancements, completed during the summer, make LATTE easier to use and better able to enrich learning and teaching at Brandeis.

New Course Communication Tools in LATTE

Did you know you can easily email your students from within LATTE, and that communications there are archived with your LATTE course?

Setting up Your LATTE Course is Easy

Instructors can now easily import all content from one LATTE course to another with a few clicks of the mouse.

Research and Scholarship

Enhanced Information Commons

Your Information Commons, located on Goldfarb Library, Floor 1, is now an even better spot for learning, collaboration, and study!  The Information Commons now features attractive new study spaces and an audio CD collection that you can browse.

Expanded capabilities in Brandeis Scholar

Brandeis Scholar makes it easy to search a wide range of digital resources, including an exciting collection of  40,000 online books.

New interactive online guides for researchers

Our popular subject-specific research guides have been transformed this summer.  They're now even easier to use and they continue to include all the latest on-line resources.  Visit the guide for your subject, share your feedback, and add your comments!

LOUIS Access and Functionality Improvements

The LOUIS library catalog has a new look and new features, including the ability to renew books using your UNet ID.

New ways to manage research citations

LTS now supports two new research citation managers -- the intuitive, web-based RefWorks and Zotero citation managers  -- in addition to EndNote.  All three tools make it easy to gather, store, and organize citations for information resources.

Technology Infrastructure

Upgraded wireless network

Summertime improvements to the Brandeis wireless network make it more robust than ever.

New email system for Brandeis

The University's robust new BMail system offers cutting-edge email capabilities for faculty, students, and staff.
