II. Curriculum

Undergraduate level courses are offered on a variety of topics from Spanish language to culture. Some courses are also involved with other programs including Latin American Studies and Women's Studies. On the graduate level the University offers courses through the Interdisciplinary Program in Literary Studies.

III. Purpose and Scope of the Collection

The Library's Collection is designed to support courses of study offered and anticipated at the undergraduate and graduate level in the area of Spanish as part of the Romance and Comparative Literature Department; to provide information for the general public; to provide resource materials needed for the pursuit of independent scholarly investigations by students and faculty.

IV. Cooperative Agreements

The Library participates in the Boston Library Consortium's Program, Latin American women authors from the Southern Cone.

V. Geographical Coverage

Materials collected on Spain, Portugal, Latin America (including the Caribbean), Spanish Africa, and Hispanic United States.

VI. Period Coverage

Material collected includes all time periods.

VII. Date of Publications

Material collected includes retrospective and current publication dates with emphasis on current. New editions of important works are collected with additional material.

VIII. Languages

Material collected primarily in English, Spanish and some Portuguese.

IX. Types of Materials

The Library's collection includes monographs, serials, electronic resources, microforms, theses/dissertations, and audio/visual material

X. Location of Materials Collection

Materials are located in standard locations throughout the library.
