Brandeis University Replaces Cisco and Juniper Access Switches with Aruba S3500s Mobility Switches to Unify Wired and Wireless Access Networks

Aruba Networks today announced that Brandeis University is in the process of a campus-wide replacement of Juniper and Cisco access switches with Aruba S3500 Mobility Switches. Brandeis made this decision after rigorous head-to-head testing and production network use of each. Full story.

Trustees approve budget of $306.7 million for fiscal 2013

April 2, 2012
One highlight of the budget is a re-investment in Library and Technology Services, which was deeply impacted during the economic crisis. Areas targeted for improvements include library collections and subject-area librarians, information security, overdue computer refresh and classroom equipment renewals across campus, upgrades to the campus learning management system, data warehousing and efforts to protect unique archival and special collections from environmental damage. John Unsworth named new head of Library & Technology Services

December 21, 2011
Provost Steve A.N. Goldstein announced today that John Unsworth, dean of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will be the new vice provost for Library and Technology Services and chief information officer at Brandeis. He will start his position in mid-February, and succeeds Perry Hanson, who in April announced his plan to retire. Full story.
