Hiring for student technology positions takes place in late spring when we host the annual LTS Student Job Fair. However, applications for technology positions are collected throughout the year. Most of the library positions are recruited at the start of the fall semester. At other times of the academic year, these positions are generally filled, but openings do occur.

Description: Provides administrative support for the course evaluation office. Must be detail oriented and have good organizational skills.

Description: Under the supervision of the University Archivist, assists in organizing archival and special collections and in providing basic reference service to researchers.

Description: Performs a variety of stacks maintenance duties throughout the library; checks library materials in and out; checks status and location of library materials in online catalog; directs patrons to other library locations and departments; communicates library policies and procedures to patrons.
Note: Students begin their training as book shelvers before working at the circulation, reserve or listening desks.
Description: Opens the facility and signs-in users; enforces library policies and behavior guidelines; reports uncooperative/disruptive behavior to Public Safety; monitors users entering and exiting the facility; regularly patrols both levels and stairwells; closes and secures the facility at the conclusion of after-hours study periods.

Description: Clears patrons from the building at the end of scheduled operating hours, secures and locks the facility; oversees Circulation and Reserve Desk operations when permanent staff are not present; supervises other Access Services student workers, including coordinating student schedules and finding substitutes to insure desk coverage; communicates library policies to patrons; assists in training student workers, and is responsible for the quality of public service during shift.

Description: Assist in the maintenance of computer classrooms and labs. Will work with Windows and Macintosh clients and servers, troubleshoot hardware and software, install and configure software, and conduct remote and on-site service and updates using management software such as Symantec Ghost.
Description: Troubleshoot and repair desktop and laptop PCs, Macs, and printers. Help transport equipment and assist in recycling old computers (up to 50 lbs lifting required). Should be knowledgeable in both PC and Mac environments (all major operating systems and programs). Printer, networking, and OS X experience helpful. Experience in one of these three areas mandatory: UNet or Faculty-Staff Help Desk; extensive computer repair and customer support experience; or A+ certification.
Description: Assists Music Catalog Librarian in cataloging and processing music scores and sound recordings. Assists Creative Arts Librarian in order and gift processing, and management of the collections. Thorough knowledge of music and eye for detail required; ability to work independently with minimal supervision. On the job training is provided.

Description: Perform a variety of functions within the Interlibrary Loan department including searching in LOUIS and processing incoming and outgoing ILL materials. Attention to detail and enthusiasm for learning about library systems and services required.
Description: Provides public service and office support for Interlibrary Loan services. Assumes responsibility for managing Interlibrary Loan workflow in the absence of staff. Ability to direct the work of undergraduate student workers, dependability and a strong service attitude is required.

Description: Provides technical support for faculty, staff, students and visitors in the areas of classroom technology, video or audio production, conferencing technology, and traditional audio visual presentation. A flexible schedule, including weekends, will be necessary. Driver's license helpful.
Description: Network installation and troubleshooting. Install network equipment and activate new network jacks around campus. Maintain records of network connections.
Description: Performs specialized bookbinding functions for the in-house repair and treatment of library materials. Works with binding equipment and sharp instruments such as surgical scalpels. Manual dexterity and excellent eye hand coordination is required. On the job training is provided.
Description: The InfoPoint Assistant provides directional and informational assistance at the Information Desk of the Main Library, answering brief, factual questions. He or she helps patrons find information in the LTS website and selected databases, such as LOUIS and WorldCat, while referring complex inquiries to the Reference Librarians. The Information Desk Assistant answers reference queries over the telephone and helps patrons with the use of microform machines.
Description: Provides tier 1 technical support in LATTE and WebCT and training for class-related technology projects to instructors, staff and students in the Faculty Resorurce Center (FRC). In addition, also provides end-user training and support for other complex applications as needed. An ability to deal with customers, strong written, and verbal skills are essential.
Description: Manages key aspects and the day-to-day operation of a fast track project to extract and convert faculty course content from a proprietary legacy system. S/he will provide training to student employees, manage quality control of their work, troubleshoot problems, and make decisions as appropriate. The Student Manager will also interact with faculty and LTS staff to address questions or problems related to course content migration.
Note: Current enrollment in a Masters/PhD program preferred.
Description: Provides technical and supervisory support for the Faculty Resource Center (FRC). In addition, provides both tier 1 and tier 2 technical support in teaching and learning applications for faculty, students and staff as needed. Acts as the student manager of the Technical Support Specialists, with required late night work managing the operations of the FRC. Strong English language skills and demonstrated ability to work will ina service setting is required.

Description: Provides training and support for curricular and extracurricular projects using a variety of multimedia applications; also collaborates with staff on internal projects with the goal of exploring and documenting the creative use of multimedia in teaching and learning. A background in computers, design, video production, or music recording/composition is required.
Description: Uses online catalog databases to perform bibliographic searching and cataloging; participates in the quality control of Exlibris and Louis catalog. Assists in automation projects and book preparation activities as needed.
Description: Performs a variety of responsibilities relating to the processing of newly acquired materials including Government Documents and/or preliminary searching for order requests. Good organizational and computer skills are required.
Description: Performs technical service responsibilities including ordering, cataloging and technical processing of newly received materials. Strong organizational skills and the ability to focus on detail are requirements for this position.
Description: Process reserve lists for faculty; communicates with faculty via email and phone regarding reserve materials; assists Course Management Team with WebCT training and support; completes reserve process by creating records for traditional paper reserve as well as books.

Description: Processes journals and prepares materials to be sent to a commercial bindery. Must be familiar with computers and computer applications and have good typing skills. Must be well organized, pay careful attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision.
Description: Examines online accessibility of electronic resources and verifies the holdings and thresholds information in both LOUIS database and SFX knowledgebase. Collects and organizes statistical information of electronic serials. Assists to maintain serial subscriptions. On the job training is provided.
Description: Assists with a variety of Circulation and Reserve services including shelving materials throughout Science Library; performing routine clean-ups of copier and study areas and shelf reading designated sections of the book stacks.

Description: Developers wireframes and application worksflows to articulate the design of new and existing end user web applications. Write programs, provides end-user training and support for complex applications and participates in the developing documentation. A strong background in computer programming and experience with Linux, Apache, MySQL or other relational database is required.
