Wireless Network Maintenance on Friday April 10th

4.9.2015

Members of the Brandeis Community,

One of the critical features of the Brandeis network is that it securely encrypts data transmitted over the wireless portion of the network. As part of our regular maintenance of the wireless network, it will be necessary to update the digital certificate that ensures the encryption of your data.

This Friday, April 10th at 7AM, LTS will be updating the Eduroam server certificates. Most wireless computers and phones will need to "accept" the new certificate when connecting to the Eduroam wireless network.

The procedure for accepting the new certificate is outlined in the knowledge base article here:

The preferred wireless network at Brandeis is called "Eduroam" and using it while on the Brandeis network will also permit seamless use of the network at other institutions supporting Eduroam.

While we do not foresee any issues with clients accepting the new certificate, if you do experience any problems connecting to Eduroam please contact the Help Desk at extension 64357 or call 781-736-HELP.
