Printing Prices Lowered

Sept. 2, 2015

Dear Members of the Brandeis Community,

Effective immediately, prices for public printers at Brandeis have been lowered, down 25-45 percent from last year’s prices. Here are the new prices, compared to the previous prices:

Copy type
Old price,
per page
New price,
per page

Single-sided, black-and-white

Double-sided, black-and-white

Single-sided, color

Double-sided, color

The printers that will reflect the change can be found in these locations:

  • Goldfarb Library InfoCommons
  • Goldfarb Classroom
  • Farber Classroom
  • Shapiro Campus Center Library
  • Heller Computer lab
  • IBS Commons

This change came about as the result of a proposal made by Noam Cohen, your undergraduate representative to the Library Advisory Committee. Noam compared Brandeis' former printing prices to those at neighboring peer institutions, and made a compelling case for bringing our pricing in line with them. With the support from the offices of Procurement Services and Students and Enrollment, Brandeis was able to make this change possible.

And please, even with lower prices, think before you print! According to the Clean Air Council, the average American uses 650 pounds of paper a year; Americans collectively throw away enough office paper annually to build a 12-foot wall from New York City to Los Angeles. If you do need to print, consider printing double-sided, something encouraged by the new pricing structure.
