Eduroam Certificate Update on Nov 5th

Dear Members of the Brandeis Community,

One of the critical features of the Brandeis network is that it securely encrypts data transmitted over the wireless portion of the network. As part of our regular maintenance of the wireless network, it will be necessary to update the digital certificate that ensures the encryption of your data.

The preferred wireless network at Brandeis is called "Eduroam" and using it while on the Brandeis network will also permit seamless use of the network at other institutions supporting Eduroam.

On Thursday November 5th at 7 a.m., Library and Technology Services will be updating Eduroam certificates.  Many wireless computers and phones will need to accept the new certificate when connecting to the Eduroam wireless network.  Alternatively, if you are new to using Eduroam, you can download and use the configuration tool at https://kb.brandeis.edu/x/gYEY.

The procedure for accepting the new certificate is outlined in the Knowledge base article here: https://kb.brandeis.edu/display/LTS/Accept+eduroam+Certificate

While we do not foresee any issues with clients accepting the new certificate, if you do experience any problems connecting to Eduroam please contact the Help Desk at extension 64357 or call 781-736-HELP.
